In The City Laid In Yellow Bricks

In the city laid in yellow bricks,
The silver sand that seams it to the sea,
The sea, so blue and resting so lull,
The copper sunset that wraps the day,
The palms that line it up in green
And the people skinned in rich gold,
Paint me pictures of a thousand memories,
Memories of the moments that I have lived,
Flashes of the sorrows that I have buried
And of dreams, that I wish to breathe,
In the city that I call home,
In the city of chaos where I find peace,
In the city laid in yellow bricks,
Is where my heart belongs
